What this document is

The “Application for Qualification Endorsement for Wealthy Global Citizen” is the application form of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) for the Long-Term Resident (LTR) visa in the Wealthy Global Citizen category. On the basis of this application the relevant agencies endorse that the applicant meets the category criteria; only after that is the LTR visa itself issued.

The application is submitted through the LTR online system at ltr.boi.go.th, where the applicant creates an account. The PDF form has the same questions and is useful to prepare all answers and figures in advance.

Who it is for

According to the BOI LTR portal (checked on 2026-10-08), the category is for wealthy individuals: assets of at least USD 1 million, investment in Thailand of at least USD 500,000 in the applicant’s name (Thai government bonds, direct investment in a Thai company or Thai property), average personal income of at least USD 80,000 a year in the past two years, and health insurance with cover of at least USD 50,000, Thai social security benefits or a deposit of at least USD 100,000 held for at least 12 months. Criteria can change — check the portal before applying.

What the form asks for

  • Part A — name as in the passport, nationality, date and place of birth, sex, marital status, passport details, addresses, phone, e-mail, spouse and children, education, occupation, contact person in Thailand;
  • Part B — income for the current and the two previous years in USD and its sources;
  • Part C — investment in Thailand: government bonds, direct investment in a company, real estate, totals in THB and USD;
  • Part D — total assets and their breakdown by type, country and value;
  • Part E — how medical expenses are covered (only one option);
  • Parts F–G — only if you plan to work in Thailand: employer, directors, your position and contract term, a reference person;
  • Part H — your latest entry into Thailand (if you are already in the country).

Documents listed on the form

  • copy of a valid passport (passport valid for more than 6 months when collecting the visa) and a 3×4 cm photo;
  • health insurance policy, proof of social security benefits or proof of a USD 100,000 deposit held for 12 months;
  • evidence of investment: Thai government bond, shareholder list, portfolio statement, condominium ownership certificate (Or.Chor 2) or sale and purchase agreement — whichever applies;
  • evidence of income tax payment or tax returns for the past 2 years and other proof of income;
  • evidence of ownership of the declared assets;
  • for a work permit: employment certificate WP.46 and, if any, employment certificate, work permit or its cancellation.

A certificate of no criminal record may be requested case by case. The exact list may change — check it in the LTR online system.

How to fill it in with FoxDocs

  1. Open the chat on this page and write in any language.
  2. Send a photo of your passport data page and answer the questions — the assistant fills in the boxes, ticks the options and writes dates in dd-mm-yyyy format.
  3. Check the PDF and use it to enter the same answers in the LTR online system or attach it where required.

Fees and timing

According to the portal, the BOI charges no fee for the qualification endorsement; the result is usually notified within 20 working days after complete documents are received. The visa fee for collection in Thailand is stated as 50,000 baht per person for 10 years; abroad it may differ. Check current fees with the BOI LTR Visa Unit.
