What this document is

The Transfer Stamp to New Passport Form is a foreigner's application to the Thai Immigration Bureau asking to transfer stamps (visa, permitted period of stay) from the previous passport to a new one.

The form is bilingual (Thai and English): one application page and one page listing the required documents. It is addressed to the Inspector of Sub-Division 2, Immigration Division 1; the “FOR OFFICIAL ONLY” part is completed by the officer.

Who files it

  • a foreigner staying in Thailand on a visa or an extension of stay who has received a new passport (the old one expired, ran out of pages, etc.);
  • so that the current permission to stay is shown in the new passport.

Permanent residence holders use a separate immigration form. In the provinces the procedure and form may differ — check with your local immigration office.

What the form asks for

  • place and date of writing (year in พ.ศ. or A.D.);
  • name, age, nationality;
  • number, place of issue, issue and expiry dates of the previous passport;
  • number, place of issue, issue and expiry dates of the new passport;
  • the reason; signature — by hand.

What to attach (as listed on the form)

  1. the completed application;
  2. a certificate from your embassy (if available);
  3. a copy of the former passport photo page;
  4. a copy of the new passport photo page;
  5. a copy of the last arrival stamp;
  6. a copy of the visa page (if available);
  7. a copy of the last extension of stay stamp;
  8. a copy of the TM card.

Bring the originals of both passports. The form does not state a fee or processing time — check with the office.

How to fill it in with FoxDocs

  1. Open the chat on this page and say, in any language, that you need to transfer stamps to a new passport.
  2. Answer questions about yourself and your old and new passports — the assistant fills the boxes and converts the year of the application date to the Buddhist Era.
  3. Check the fields and download the PDF.
  4. Print, sign and submit to immigration with the copies and both original passports.
