What this document is
STM.8 (สตม. ๘, “Criteria and Conditions Acknowledgement Form for a Temporary Stay Permit in the Kingdom (LTR Visa)”) is a Thai Immigration Bureau form for foreigners staying under the Long-Term Resident (LTR) visa programme. By signing it, the foreigner confirms that the officer has explained the conditions of the stay permit and undertakes to follow them.
The form is Annex C to Immigration Bureau Order No. 150/2565 dated 22 August 2022 and is published on the BOI LTR portal. It is not a visa application: the LTR qualification itself is handled by the Board of Investment (BOI).
When the permission ends (as printed on the form)
- failure to act in accordance with the Ministry of Interior Notification of 25 May 2022 on special stay permission for high-potential foreigners;
- insufficient qualifications or failure to follow the criteria and conditions set by the BOI with cabinet approval;
- circumstances indicating danger to public safety, an arrest warrant from a foreign government, deportation by the Thai or a foreign government, or revocation of the right to stay in the Kingdom.
The form also states that the holder must notify the competent official of their address every year after the permission is granted.
What the form asks for
- the immigration office and the date — the year in the Buddhist Era (พ.ศ.);
- title (นาย/นาง/นางสาว — Mr./Mrs./Miss), full name as in the passport, age;
- nationality, passport number and its date of issue;
- signature — by hand, in the presence of the immigration officer.
What to have with you
- the passport on which the LTR visa is issued;
- the BOI qualification endorsement and any other documents the officer asks for.
