What this document is
EX-10 (“Solicitud de autorización de residencia por circunstancias excepcionales”) is the official form to apply for a residence permit in Spain on exceptional grounds. The main ground is arraigo — ties to Spain built by a foreigner already living in the country. The form also covers humanitarian reasons, cooperation with the authorities and protection of victims of violence and human trafficking (RD 1155/2024). The form is in Spanish and has five pages: three to fill in and two with instructions.
EX forms must be submitted in the official model: FoxDocs only types your values into the fields of the official PDF and does not change its layout.
Who files it and where
- a foreigner present in Spain who fits one of the grounds: second-chance arraigo, socio-labour (sociolaboral), social, training (socioformativo), family arraigo, humanitarian reasons and the other items in section 7;
- most types of arraigo require continuous stay in Spain (usually 2 years under the new regulation) and no criminal record — conditions depend on the ground;
- submitted at the Oficina de Extranjería of the province where you live, usually with a cita previa, or electronically through a representative;
- the permit fee is paid with form 790 code 052; check the amount on the form or with the office;
- once granted, you apply for the TIE card with form EX-17;
- section 5 (employer) is filled in for socio-labour arraigo, section 6 (training centre) for training arraigo, section 2 (relative) for family arraigo.
What the form asks for
- section 1: passport, NIE (if any), surnames, name, sex, date of birth (dd/mm/aaaa), place and country of birth, nationality, civil status, parents’ names, address in Spain, phone, e-mail, legal representative;
- section 2 (family arraigo only): details of the relative who is an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen, their address and your relationship;
- sections 3–4: representative for submitting, address for notifications and consent to electronic notifications via DEHú;
- section 5 (socio-labour arraigo only): employer — name, NIF, activity, CNAE, occupation code CNO, address, contacts, representative;
- section 6 (training arraigo only): type of training, institution, course, code, NIF, address, hours, dates, mode of study;
- section 7: type of application (initial, extension, provisional) and one of 25 grounds; place, date, signature and the office addressed.
Documents usually brought along
- the EX-10 form, original and a copy, filled in in capital letters;
- the full passport, original and a copy;
- criminal record certificates from the countries where you lived, usually apostilled and translated;
- proof of your stay in Spain, for example a historical padrón certificate;
- depending on the ground: employment contract (socio-labour), enrolment certificate (training), proof of the family link (family), social integration report (social), etc.;
- the receipt for the 790-052 fee; the exact list depends on the ground and the office — check in advance.
How to fill it in with FoxDocs
- Tell the chat in any language who you are, how long you have lived in Spain and on what ground you apply: work, studies, family and so on.
- The assistant fills the boxes in capital letters, splits dates into dd/mm/aaaa and the NIE into its boxes, completes the relevant section (employer, course or relative) and ticks the ground.
- Download the PDF, check it, print, sign it by hand and submit it with a copy and your documents.
