What this document is

TM.10 (ตม.10, “คำขอพิสูจน์สัญชาติ”, Application for Proof of Nationality) is an application to a Thai immigration officer. The applicant states that they are a Thai national under the Nationality Law, lists the evidence and asks for permission to enter and stay in Thailand.

The form is bilingual (Thai and English), two pages, issued by the Immigration Bureau.

Who files it

  • a person who considers themselves a Thai national (for example, born to a Thai father or mother) but whose nationality immigration has to verify;
  • most often someone entering or staying in Thailand without a Thai passport or ID card.

Check the exact procedure with the immigration office: the form itself does not grant nationality; the officer decides.

What the form asks for

  • place and date of writing (Buddhist Era year, พ.ศ.);
  • title (นาย/นาง/นางสาว), family name, first name, middle name, age;
  • how and when you arrived in Thailand;
  • father's and mother's names, nationality and race (เชื้อชาติ);
  • place of birth (house no., tambon, amphoe, province) and date of birth;
  • the nationality you are proving and its basis (“by…”);
  • up to 4 items of evidence; signature or right thumb print and a 4×6 cm photo — by hand.

What to attach

  • the evidence listed in the application — originals or copies certified by a competent authority (as the form requires);
  • a 4×6 cm photograph;
  • the passport or other document you travelled on, if any.

The application must be submitted in person. According to the form, the fee is not refunded whatever the decision; check the amount and processing time with the office.
